Pflegeheim H.E.

We visited this ‘Pflegeheim’ on our Urbex roadtrip in Harz, Germany early May this year. After i finished the bracketing shots with the Sony i decided to take out my Fuji X30 and make some shots. There was enough light available to shoot handheld without going over iso 400. All these shots are edited using camera raw.

I really like the X30, though i do think the shots need post processing to make them more interesting the output of this small sensor amazes me. Good companion even on urban exploration trips.

The Pflegeheim itself was very interesting, We both work in healthcare so we were amazed to see the stuff left behind, a small museum for us! We had a great explore here and left with a big smile because we didn’t know for sure we could still explore this location, rumors of it being renovated were a few months old but could have been true.

Krampnitz.

Krampnitz. First stop on our 2 weeks exploring holiday in Germany end May beginning June 2016. We had high hopes for this location which we didn’t visit 3 times before we were in Berlin. Reasons enough, security, the making of Hunger games und so weiter. But this time we went for it, seems to have calmed down a bit and reports on security were not that big anymore.

So we went in, straight to the building with the eagle…but….. As you can see in the pictures, closed. So we went around the building looking for an entrance we couldn’t find. We decided to get a few shots of details located on the outside of the building and then move on to buildings we could enter. But…..

….a white caddy, a guy pointing at us to approach him and that was Krampnitz.

Above the 4 shots that i dare to show out of the 9 i took. There will not be another attempt.

MBI Beton, 2014 (warning large serie)

August 2014 we visited MBI Beton, a legit visit and one of our first urbex trips. This serie has been on my hard drive for a long time now. I decided to share the full serie on my blog. Flickr or Facebook don’t seem appropriate for this size serie.
This series is completely shot with my Nikon D90 + 35mm 1.8 DX. One of the last times i shot such a big serie with it. I also owned my Olympus E-M10 those days but shot with both camera’s and did an in camera black and white serie with the D90 35mm combo. All that is edited is some straightening on the ooc jpeg files and the border.
Why publish it? Well i have personally always liked this serie a lot, not really an explanation for it but today i needed to share it.
The D90 and 35mm are history, both sold to invest in new gear.. Also Urbex has become my main shooting style now. This blog was neglected for a long time so now time to use it again.
The serie is shown randomly.

Berlin. Day 6.

What happened to day 5? Well not much interesting stuff to post and besides it were the reports of yet another fire at BLUB i decided to pick up posting to my blog again.

What is in this post, BLUB. Berlin Luft und Badeparadies. What a location, thrashed but still so very cool to explore. Crowded to, during our visit we saw enough other photographers but also graffiti artist and young Berliners climbing the roof. The end is near for BLUB, should be demolished for new houses and stuff.

I will update my blog more next days, have lot’s of series to share. Thank’s for your visit!
